-
Pay lasting tribute to loved ones who served their country;
-
Honor members of your family or close friends;
-
Recognize your group, club or organization;
-
Commemorate a special event or occasion
Each engraved brick becomes a permanent part of the Garden of Hope to be viewed and enjoyed by residents and visitors for years to come. As always, your donation to the AFEV is tax-deductible.
The Garden features the Christmas Box Statue, also known as the Angel of Hope. The statue is dedicated to the memory of Father Howard Lesch, who served 30 years as an Air Force chaplain and 11 years as the chaplain of the Dolores Hope All Faiths Chapel.
Author Richard Paul Evans introduced the Christmas Box Angel Statue in his book, "The Christmas Box." In the story, a woman mourns the loss of her child at the base of an angel monument. The statue has become a symbol for those who have not only lost a child, but for anyone who has lost a loved one.
