Bob Hope Village Tour

Welcome to Bob Hope Village located at 30 Holly Avenue in Shalimar, Florida. Our campus is set among the trees of Northwest Florida. We’re located only 3 miles from Eglin Air Force Base and 8 miles from Hurlburt Field with all their facilities, such as commissaries, base exchanges, health care and a full range of recreational offerings. We're only short drive to the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast, and we enjoy a wonderful sub-tropical climate. We're a gated community, offering security and peace of mind.

Our campus is shaped by four villages of garden apartments. Breezeways connect every section of the wings and the community center. Each wing has its own activity room and free laundry facility. We have 224 one-bedroom apartments and 32 two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment comes equipped with appliances, but you bring your furnishings to make it your own. Monthly service fees cover water, sewer, garbage, maintenance, security costs and basic cable. Electricity, telephone premium cable and internet services are the residents' responsibility. Prices vary depending on the size of the unit and personal utility usage. A storage room is located in the apartment’s covered patio area. An added safety feature is an emergency call-box in each bathroom.

Our 29,000-square foot Community Center houses a dining room, commercial kitchen, library, gift shop,  work out room and a beauty salon. Banking services are available in the community center on Wednesday mornings. Adjacent to the center is an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. In the same area is our lovely flower garden with gazebo and benches. It is maintained by our residents with green thumbs and an eye for sculpting nature's beauty.

On the opposite side of our campus is the Dolores Hope All Faith’s Chapel. The chapel, with its clear glass windows,  gives a magnificent view of the surrounding gardens and trees. It was dedicated in 1991 in honor of Bob Hope’s wife, Dolores. It won an Air Force design award for its natural, aesthetic beauty. The Chapel seats 200 and has a range of Protestant and Catholic services offered each week. Next to the chapel and matching its architectural cues is the Bob Gates Welcome Center. With a large banquet room and set of smaller meeting rooms, it's a popular spot for meetings and social gatherings. Between the two buildings is our Garden of Hope featuring the Christmas Box Angel statue, also known as the Angel of Hope. The pathways within the garden are paved with bricks to honor or remember friends and family members. You can purchase your own brick paver to serve as a permanent sign of your friendship or devotion.

A one-mile nature trail allows residents and visitors to meander through the undeveloped woods on the campus. Picnic tables and benches are placed throughout the trail for rest stops and outdoor dining with pleasing views. Bob Hope Village also offers garden plots where you can grow your own fruits and vegetables.
